FAQs
Why do you provide so much free content?
I believe that healing and wellness should be accessible to everyone, regardless of ability to pay. While I gratefully receive payment for live sessions and classes, I’m equally grateful to be able to provide a library of practices for folks to explore for free and at their own pace.
is it possible to make a donation for the free content?
Yes! And your generosity allows me to continue providing this content! You can donate via Venmo (please do NOT toggle to “pay for goods and services”). Thank you!
what props should i have handy?
I recommend having a strap (you can also use a scarf or towel), 2-3 blankets or a bolster (couch cushions and pillows also work), and 2-3 yoga blocks (heavy hardcover books are a great substitute for this!). Additionally, please create a space that feels sacred/nourishing to you with a soothing beverage and/or water, crystals, photos… whatever brings YOU inspiration and helps you tune into your body and practice.
Do you have music recommendations?
Always! As may be blatantly obvious, I’m a devotee of Nine Inch Nails. Most of my playlists, which you’ll find linked with each class, revolves around the musical genius of Trent Reznor. You’ll also find other 90’s alt and grunge music in many of the playlists. I use Apple Music, but you can easily create playlists on your music streaming platform of choice using the songs I suggest… or make your own!
who are your main yoga/wellness influences?
For many years, I got caught up in the “love and light” yoga “scene”, and thought that I had to divorce my practice from my “gothiness”. This created internal friction and burnout. Crystal Rose and Health Goth Yoga showed me that I could actually create something very special by including all the pieces of myself in my personal practice and offerings presented to all of you! My other main influence is Hala Khouri, who taught me the importance of somatics and infusing social justice into every practice modality.
do you offer private group sessions?
YES! I love working with small groups, families, non-profits, etc. I also have special pricing available for Queer and BIPOC groups, and offer FREE sessions for folks who are Palestinian, Lebanese, Sudanese, or Congolese. Please contact me to schedule something in-person or virtual!
